Power plants at sea

“I was seeking to develop further in renewable energy. Statkraft’s clear strategy on pure energy attracted me. The new industry growth in offshore wind served a positive match, ever since I moved to Statkraft in 2010.”

Why Statkraft?
My core background and experience comes from offshore oil and gas. Still, I was seeking to develop further in renewable energy. Statkraft’s clear strategy on pure energy attracted me. The new industry growth in offshore wind served a positive match, ever since I moved to Statkraft in 2010.

What are you doing in your current role?

Today I am the General Manager of the Sheringham Shoal offshore wind farm and head of offshore wind asset management. As a General Manager, I report to a Board, with representatives from the owners; Statkraft, Statoil and Green Investment Bank.

A typical day?

For me there is no typical work day, I explore the joy of a wide variation of work tasks. Still, a typical day at work could include preparation of Board input, establishment of business cases for new investments, strategy planning, operations planning for new assets, meetings with team members and a lot of communication. Luckily, we got efficient solutions for video communication both from my desk and in meeting rooms.

What motivates you?

First and foremost  the teamwork with other people in Statkraft and with our partners and contractors. Further, the offshore wind industry definitely has the potential to make a substantial contribution to a greener Europe – that is also a large motivating drive!

What you best describe Statkraft?
Clear and pure strategy, predictable and responsible. At the same time dynamic for being a global company and proactive on new technologies. And definitely a lot of pleasant and experienced people.
