The majority of our energy production is generated through hydropower. Production takes place in 233 hydropower plants – 141 in Norway, 59 in Sweden, 11 in Germany, four in Finland, three in the United Kingdom and 15 outside Europe. 

We've got three wind power plants in Norway .That is enough to provide electricity to 37 000 households. We also have one in UK and one outside Europe. In addition we are developing several wind power projects in Norway, Sweden and UK.

We operate three gas-fired power plants in Germany and have shareholdings in two other plants.

In early 2010, we opened our first solar power plant in the Italian province of Latina, outside Rome. 

We have also entered into a number of agreements in the field of tidal power, and we are working together with industry to achieve better energy efficiency. 

Innovation is important to us. We strive to research and develop new sources of energy, and we will soon open the world's first osmotic power prototype at Hurum.
