Aurland II L is located in the Stonn Valley in Aurland Municipality, Sogn og Fjordane County.
Ownership: 7 %
Production: 178 GWh
Power: 70 MW
The hydropower development in the Aurland Valley is an elegant network of dams, tunnels and power stations. The same water is used several times as it passes through the various power stations on its way from the high mountains to the bottom of the fjord.
This power plant uses the height of fall down to Lake Viddalsvatn from two different levels. Aurland II L uses the lowest height of fall of 110 metres from Lakes Vesterdalstjern and Vetlebotnvatn while Aurland II H uses the largest height of fall.
Aurland II L was commissioned in 1983 and has two Francis turbines with a total installed capacity of 70 MW.
The inflow of water to the catchment area of 333 square kilometres results in 560 million cubic metres reaching the two turbines of the power plant.
The power plant has an annual mean production of 178 GWh.
E-CO Energi AS is the operator of Aurland II L power plant and responsible for daily operation.
