The hydropower development in Aurlandsdalen is an intricate system of dams, tunnels and power stations. The same water is used several times as it passes through the different stations on its way from the mountain plateau to the fjord.
Aurland II L was opened in 1983 and consists of two Francis turbines with an installed effect of 60 MW and an annual mean production of 186 GWh.
