The district heating plant in the striking "Signalbygg" on Jarlsø in Tønsberg Municipality, Vestfold County supplies heat and hot water to households and commercial customers on the island.
The heating plant has two 0.6 MW heat pumps based on seawater with R134A gas as coolant, a 0.3 MW electric boiler used for summer operation and two 1.4 MW oil-fired boilers as reserve capacity.
Plans call for this plant to be expanded and when fully operational it will produce around 4.0 GWh in 2025.
Jarlsø district heating plant is operated by Skagerak Varme AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Skagerak Energi AS.
