Smøla Wind Farm is located in Smøla Municipality, Møre og Romsdal County, in flat and open terrain 10-40 metres above sea level.
A total of 68 wind turbines provide an annual production of 356 GWh.
The wind farm was constructed in two phases. The first construction phase with 20 wind turbines became operational in September 2002, while the second phase with 48 wind turbines was commissioned in September 2005.
The rotors have a diameter of 76 to 82.4 metres and the towers are 70 metres high.
Smøla was Europe's largest onshore wind farm when it was commissioned, and the largest in Norway until 2017.
