The heating plant at Bugården in Sandefjord Municipality in Vestfold County has been operating since 2015.
The district heating plant produces heat from bioenergy in the form of solid biofuels, and from flue gas condensation, electricity and oil. In addition, two heat pumps are located at Kilen pier, connected to the district heating system.
Statkraft Varme began construction of the new district heating plant and distribution network in Sandefjord city centre in 2013. The main network is 10 kilometres long and supplies several large commercial buildings in the Municipality, including the city hall, Sandefjord secondary school, the swimming hall, Kamfjord nursing home and the hotel Scandic Park Sandefjord.
