  • Statkraft donates NOK 1 million to Red Cross Norway's relief work in the Philippines

    (Oslo, November 12, 2013) Statkraft donates NOK 1 million to relief work after the typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. The money will be canalized through Red Cross Norway in which Statkraft already has a cooperation agreement with. Statkraft has operations in several Asian countries, including the Philippines through its subsidiary SN Power.

    (Oslo 11 November 2013) The letter of intent from 24 January between Bergenhalvøens Kommunale Kraftselskap (BKK), Haugaland Kraft, Sunnhordland Kraftlag (SKL), Sognekraft and Statkraft has been has been terminated. It has not been possible to reach agreement as regards the value of the assets involved, and the efforts to achieve an agreement based on the intention to implement changes in the ownership structure of BKK and power plants in western Norway have therefore come to an end.

    (Oslo, 7 November 2013) In the third quarter of 2013, Statkraft achieved an underlying1 operating profit before depreciation (EBITDA) of NOK 1867 million, an improvement of NOK 614 million compared with the corresponding quarter in 2012. Unrealised currency effects resulted in a net loss of NOK 1681 million, compared with a profit of NOK 638 million in the third quarter of 2012.

  • Statkraft to build hydropower plants in Albania

    (Oslo, June 17, 2013) Statkraft has decided to start the construction of the Devoll hydropower project in Albania. Initially, it’s decided to build the two hydropower plants Banjë and Moglicë with a combined capacity of 243 MW and an annual production of about 700 GWh.

  • Statkraft Inaugurates Second Gas Power Plant in Hürth-Knapsack

    (Hürth-Knapsack, Germany, June 13, 2013) Statkraft, Europe's largest producer of renewable energy, today officially inaugurated its second combined cycle gas turbine power plant (CCGT) at the site in Hürth-Knapsack. The company has now completed the modernization of its gas power portfolio. In 2012 and 2013, the company has already taken older capacities to the amount of 900 MW off the market.

    In the first quarter of 2013, Statkraft achieved an underlying* operating profit before depreciation (EBITDA) of NOK 4180 million, on par with the corresponding quarter in 2012. Negative currency effects resulted in a net profit of NOK 443 million, compared with NOK 3430 million in the first quarter last year.
