Statkraft lays foundation for second gas-fired power plant in Hürth Knapsack
Hürth-Knapsack, 30 September 2011 – At a groundbreaking ceremony, Statkraft, Europe’s largest producer of renewable energy, today announced the start of construction of a second combined gas and steam turbine power plant (CCPP) at the Hürth Knapsack site. In addition to representatives of the company, State Secretary Jochen Homann from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Marc Jan Eumann, Parliamentary Secretary for Federal Affairs, Europe and Media of North Rhine Westphalia, also attended the ceremony.
Statkraft to build several wind farms in Sweden
(Oslo/Stockholm, 18 August 2011) Statkraft has decided to build Stamåsen 1 wind farm in Sweden. This means that from September, Statkraft will have two large wind farms under construction in Central Sweden, strengthening its position as the largest player in renewable energy in Europe. The wind farm will be established in cooperation with SCA and will be completed with a capacity of 60 MW next year.
Statkraft new owner of Bio Varme
Statkraft has entered into an agreement with the owners of Bio Varme AS to acquire the Norwegian district heating company. The acquisition strengthens Statkraft’s leading position within district heating in Norway.
Statkraft awards NOK 5 million to climate and development projects
(Oslo, 18. august 2011) Statkraft has awarded a total of NOK 5 million to Norwegian Church Aid, Renewable World, Norwegian People’s Aid, Energiråd Innlandet, Grane Næringsutvikling and the Ny-Ålesund Symposium. The donation takes place through the Statkraft Fund.
Satisfactory operations and extraordinary write-downs
(Oslo, 18 August 2011) In the second quarter, Statkraft achieved good results in the underlying operations. Through lower production, but higher prices, the underlying* operating profit before depreciation (EBITDA) amounted to NOK 1822 million, compared with NOK 1733 million in the corresponding quarter last year. As a result of unrealised changes in value on energy contracts and write-down of the shares in E.ON AG, the posted loss after tax was NOK 929 million, compared with a profit of NOK 1063 million in the second quarter of 2010.
German minister visiting Statkraft
Yesterday, Dr. Philipp Rösler, German Federal Minister of Economics and Technology, visited Statkraft. Rösler and his delegation was especially interested in Norway’s potential role as a provider of flexibile power generation to support Germany’s growth in wind- and solar power generation.

Lower power generation yielded reduced profit
(Oslo, 19 May 2011) A weaker resource situation and lower energy generation as a result of high production in 2010 yielded an underlying1 EBITDA of NOK 4249 million for Statkraft in the first quarter of 2011 - compared with NOK 5912 million in the corresponding quarter in 2010. Net profit amounted to NOK 2809 million, compared with NOK 4533 million in the first quarter of 2010.

Strong result driven by unusual cold winter
Historically cold winter weather with high power prices and efficient management of the water reservoirs yielded an underlying* EBITDA of NOK 5401 million for Statkraft in the fourth quarter of 2010, compared with NOK 4484 million during the same period in 2009. The underlying profit before tax amounted to NOK 5371 million, up from NOK 3986 million in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Statkraft and Norske Skog enter into long-term power supply agreement
Statkraft entered into a long-term power supply contract with Norske Skogindustrier ASA for delivery to the newsprint mill at Skogn in Nord-Trøndelag. The contract involves delivery of about 0.8 TWh power per year for the period of 1 January 2011 and through to 31 December 2022.
Statkraft and Finnfjord enter into long-term power supply agreement

Statkraft yesterday signed an agreement to sell its solar project company RA 2 S.r.l. to ITS Power AG, a daughter company of Norwegian solar company Innotech Solar AS.
Statkraft to build second hydropower plant in Turkey
Statkraft has decided to construct the Kargi hydropower plant in Turkey. The hydropower plant, which is planned to be completed at the end of 2013, will be Statkraft’s second plant in Turkey. With an installed capacity of 102 MW, Kargi will have an average annual generation of 467 GWh, enough to cover the electricity needs of about 150 000 Turkish homes. The investment is expected to amount to approximately EUR 250 million.
Acceptable result driven by higher prices and lower production
Higher spot power prices, but lower generation, yielded Statkraft an underlying* EBITDA of NOK 1745 million in the third quarter, an increase from NOK 1444 million in the corresponding period last year. However, the underlying net profit decreased to NOK 469 million, from NOK 600 million year-on-year, following lower contributions from associated companies.
SN Power`s two hydro power plants inaugurated today
Together the two run-of-river hydro power plants “La Higuera and La Confluencia” will contribute with more than 310 MW of clean energy, enough to supply more than 900 thousand Chilean households with renewable electricity.
Statkraft acquires remaining shares in Baltic Cable AB from E.ON Sverige
(Oslo, 19. October 2010) – Norwegian energy company Statkraft has agreed with E.ON Sverige to acquire the remaining 33.3% of the shares in Baltic Cable AB. The company owns and operates the 600 MW HVDC-link between Trelleborg, Sweden and Lübeck, Germany.
Britain’s Energy Minister to meet with Statkraft CEO
Charles Hendry, Great Britain’s Minister of State for Energy and Climate, will attend the ONS fair in Stavanger this week. During his visit, Mr. Hendry will discuss the development of offshore wind energy in the UK, where Statkraft is very much involved. Mr. Hendry will meet with President and CEO Christian Rynning-Tønnesen, and give a speech during Statkraft’s offshore wind energy seminar ”Pure energy for more people” on Wednesday 25 August.
Good six months and a satisfactory second quarter for Statkraft
Following all-time high result in the first quarter of 2010, the result for the second quarter was slightly lower. Underlying profit before tax in the second quarter ended at NOK 2311 million compared with NOK 2295 million in the second quarter of 2009. Statkraft's underlying operating profit amounted to NOK 1119 million in the second quarter, compared with NOK 1420 million in the second quarter of 2009. The result is as expected and mainly reflects normal seasonal variations.
Svein Aaser named new chairman of Statkraft
(Oslo, 30 June 2010) Today, Svein Aaser was elected by the general meeting to serve as new chair on the Statkraft AS board of directors. Inge Ryan and Silvija Seres were elected to serve as new members on the board. Arvid Grundekjøn, Hilde M. Tonne and Bertil (Pertti) Tiusanen are stepping down from the board.
Elkem becomes one of Statkraft’s largest industrial customers
(Oslo, 28 June 2010) Norske Skog today announced the resale of 1.5 TWh of energy annually from 2011 to 2020 to Elkem. The agreement will make Elkem one of Statkraft’s largest industrial customers, and Statkraft will continue to deliver 2 TWh annually to Norske Skog.

Statkraft powering Turkish homes
(Istanbul/Oslo, 3 June 2010) Statkraft will make its first deliveries of clean and self-made hydropower to the Turkish market this week. The Cakit power plant is Statkraft’s first in the country, and it is expected that Turkish demand for energy will double by 2020. Statkraft has plans for more and larger hydropower plants in Turkey.
TrønderEnergi purchases Trondheim Energi Nett
(Trondheim 20 May 2010) TrønderEnergi and Trondheim Energi, which is owned by Statkraft, have completed negotiations for a takeover of Trondheim Energi Nett. The agreement means that TrønderEnergi is purchasing 100 per cent of the shares in the company for about NOK 900 million.

According to a Universum survey, newly educated engineers rank Statkraft as the fifth most attractive employer when applying for a job. Also economists are discovering Statkraft, ranking the company as no. 17 of the most attractive employers.
Statkraft upgrades renewable power generation in Norway
(Oslo, 18 March 2010) Statkraft has decided to spend more than NOK 1 billion upgrading hydropower facilities. In western Norway, the new power plants Eiriksdal and Makkoren will replace older facilities, while Nedre Røssåga power plant in northern Norway will be modernised.
Awarded wind contract for Dogger Bank
The Crown Estate has announced that the Forewind consortium, comprising Statkraft, Statoil, SSE (Scottish and Southern Energy) and RWE npower has been named as the successful bidder for the largest zone in the third licence round (Round 3) for UK offshore wind farms, Dogger Bank.
Statkraft opens first solar park in Italy - announces agreement for more solar parks

Statkraft – third quarter 2009 - Lower prices curbed the result
(Oslo, 12 November 2009) Statkraft's underlying profit before tax was NOK 6668 million in the first three quarters of the year (NOK 8419 million) , and NOK 888 million in the third quarter (NOK 1698 million). The year-to-date underlying profit after tax was NOK 3559 million (NOK 5205 million), and NOK 233 million (NOK 693 million) for the quarter. The result is influenced by lower power prices than last year. The Group will now implement measures to adapt to the weaker market outlook and the company’s capital situation.
