Statkraft opens first solar park in Italy - announces agreement for more solar parks
(Rome, 11 March 2010) Today, Norwegian power generator Statkraft opens its first solar power plant, Casale in Aprilia, Italy. Statkraft also announces an agreement with Siemens Energy to build more solar power plants in Italy.
Acceptable result in spite of lower prices
(Oslo, 18 February 2010) Lower power prices and reduced production in Norway resulted in Statkraft's underlying (1) operating profit for 2009 falling to NOK 9947 million (NOK 12 029 million) (2), and to NOK 3770 million in the fourth quarter (NOK 4072 million). The underlying profit before tax amounted to NOK 10 654 million (NOK 11 960 million), and NOK 3986 million in the fourth quarter (NOK 3541 million).
More wind power licenses gained in the UK
(Oslo, 26 January 2010) Since 1 January 2010, Statkraft has received two new licenses for development of wind power in the UK – in addition to the rights to develop the offshore wind power zone on the Dogger Bank off the coast of England. Today, Minister of Trade and Industry Trond Giske is participating in a presentation of Statkraft to British businesses in London.
Awarded wind contract for Dogger Bank
The Crown Estate has announced that the Forewind consortium, comprising Statkraft, Statoil, SSE (Scottish and Southern Energy) and RWE npower has been named as the successful bidder for the largest zone in the third licence round (Round 3) for UK offshore wind farms, Dogger Bank.

Statkraft – third quarter 2009 - Lower prices curbed the result
(Oslo, 12 November 2009) Statkraft's underlying profit before tax was NOK 6668 million in the first three quarters of the year (NOK 8419 million) , and NOK 888 million in the third quarter (NOK 1698 million). The year-to-date underlying profit after tax was NOK 3559 million (NOK 5205 million), and NOK 233 million (NOK 693 million) for the quarter. The result is influenced by lower power prices than last year. The Group will now implement measures to adapt to the weaker market outlook and the company’s capital situation.
Tata Power and SN Power announce exclusive partnership agreement to set up Joint Ventures to develop hydropower projects in India and Nepal
(Mumbai, 30th October) Tata Power, India’s largest integrated private power utility, and SN Power, Norway’s fast-growing international renewable energy company, signed an exclusive partnership agreement to develop joint hydropower projects in India and Nepal. This is the first time that Tata Power has entered into an exclusive partnership with another hydropower company.

Statkraft acquires 8 solar power projects from Italian solar utility
(Hamburg, 24 September 2009) Solar Utility SpA signed an agreement with Norwegian state-owned energy company Statkraft AS to develop and transfer eight solar power projects totaling almost 20 MW in the Italian region of Puglia. This first transaction signals an ambition to develop a powerhouse in renewable energy in Italy between the parties.
Agreement on principles of a distribution grid merger in Sør-Trøndelag
(Trondheim, 16 September 2009) Trondheim Energi and TrønderEnergi have today agreed on principles for a power distribution grid merger in the county of Sør-Trøndelag. The companies will start commercial negotiations with the intension of merging the grid operators Trondheim Energi Nett and TrønderEnergi Nett.
Statkraft and Duke delighted with consent for Berry Burn Wind Farm
Catamount Energy Limited (CEL), a partnership between Statkraft and Duke Energy has received consent from the Scottish Government to build Berry Burn wind farm. The wind farm consists of 29 wind turbines with a maximum installed capacity of 78.3 megawatts and will be located on the slopes of Carn Kitty and Carn Ghiubhais, approximately 12 km south of Forres, in the Moray Council area.
Södra and Statkraft in wide-ranging renewable energy cooperation agreement
The Swedish forestry and timber product company Södra and the Norwegian energy company Statkraft have signed an agreement of intent on renewable energy valued at up to SEK 10 billion (Euro 1 billion). Statkraft – Q2 2009 - Acceptable results in a turbulent market
The Statkraft Group’s gross operating revenues rose by 8 per cent in the six months to 30 June. The increase is primarily attributable to earnings from the power plants acquired from E.ON AG at the turn of the year. The rise in revenues was, however, less than expected owing to the sharp fall in German electricity prices compared with first-half 2008. Lower gas power production in Germany coincided with a fall in earnings from Norwegian hydropower, bringing about a weaker underlying result.

Statkraft – Q1 2009 - Satisfactory result from operations
The Group posted an operating profit, adjusted for unrealised changes in value and material non-recurring items, of NOK 3 943 million in the first quarter of 2009 (NOK 3 838 million). This represents an improvement of 3% compared with the same period in 2008. The improvement in the operating result is primarily attributable to an increase in production as a result of the acquisition of new assets, while the average Nordic system price was on a par with the previous year. Adjusted for unrealised changes in value and material non-recurring items, the underlying profit after tax amounted to NOK 1 786 million (NOK 2 943 million). The interim financial statements are impacted by large unrealised changes in value. Unadjusted for these items, the accounting profit after tax was NOK 2 723 million (NOK 3 803 million)1.
WWF and Statkraft to cooperate on sustainable energy

Statkraft acquires hydropower projects in Turkey
(Istanbul/Oslo, 18 March 2009) Statkraft AS and Global Investment Holdings, a Turkish diversified holding company, have signed an agreement to transfer hydropower projects to Statkraft. Under the agreement Statkraft acquires Yesil Enerji, a company with controlling interests in seven hydropower projects in Turkey. The potential of the project portfolio is an annual generation capacity of more than 2 TWh. The agreement is Statkraft’s first in Turkey.

Statkraft – fourth quarter and preliminary financial statements for the 2008 financial year - Best ever year-end result
(Oslo, 26 February 2009) Statkraft made a net profit of NOK 33,262 million in 2008 (NOK 6,632 million) , while its underlying net profit came to NOK 8,097 million (NOK 7,030 million). The Group made a net profit in the fourth quarter 2008 of NOK 28,663 million (NOK 2,529 million). The underlying net profit for the quarter came to NOK 2,918 million (NOK 2,986 million).
Statkraft involved in five new research centres
Norway’s Petroleum and Energy Minister Terje Riis-Johansen today announced that eight research centres have been named Centres for Environment-Friendly Energy Research (CEER). Statkraft is involved in five of the chosen centres, and has undertaken to provide both funding and expertise.
Statkraft board recommends strengthened equity
The board of Statkraft today submitted a recommendation to Sylvia Brustad, the Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry, to strengthen the company’s equity by NOK 8 billion and amend the current dividend policy. Statkraft to open Rødberg power plant
Today Statkraft is opening the Rødberg power plant in Buskerud County. Making use of the waterfall drop between two existing power plants, the new plant will produce enough power to supply 800 households.
