Origination  – Statkraft Markets GmbH is a buyer and seller of a wide variety of customized energy deliveries, all modelled to meet the need of our customers. We offer fixed schedules that follow the forecasted load, flexible deliveries and guaranteed long-term offtake from power plants. For customers interested in green energy we offer RECS certificates from Statkraft’s Norwegian hydropower plants. In addition we offer advisory services within portfolio management, asset optimization and support services of the day-to-day operations of wholesale players. Our customers are distribution companies and larger industrial companies with more than 50 GWh in an annual consumption and industrial power producers. Germany is our biggest market, but an increasing number of customers can be found in other European countries, especially Austria and Switzerland. 

Proprietary trading – Market liberalisation has triggered a rapid growth in the number of energy traders in Europe. To support the origination business we utilize our trading skill and know-how developed in the Nordic power market to trade on our own book in the European market place, profiting from short-term fluctuations in supply and demand. All of our gas and power trading activities are based on fundamental analysis and to some extent market sentiments.
