Asset Origination and Management

Statkraft's growth strategy centres around investing in environmentally-friendly power generation in selected European countries, and in maximising the return on such investments through excellent commercial management. Teams based in Amsterdam are central to developing Statkraft's generation business and to managing Statkraft's long-term market exposure related to assets on the continent.

Energy Projects
The goal of the Energy Projects team is to identify commercially attractive asset opportunities, such as power stations and infrastructure, in which Statkraft could invest; and to find ways to increase the value of Statkraft's existing assets on the continent. The team works in partnership with Statkraft’s New Energy business unit in Oslo, London and Belgrade. The team originates opportunities that fit with Statkraft's strategy and ambitions, and takes them forward up to the final investment decision by Statkraft's board. The work involves contract negotiation, project co-ordination, and project evaluation from economic, technical, and strategic points of view.

Asset Management
Asset Management is responsible for managing the exposure of Statkraft’s continental assets, currently consisting of two combined cycle power plants and the subsea cable between Sweden and Germany. Statkraft’s ambition is to grow its continental asset base. To that extent we are constantly scanning the continental markets for projects to add to the existing asset portfolio.
The team, which is based in Amsterdam, is currently active in oil, coal, carbon, gas and power markets.
Asset Management is also able to offer multi-commodity structured products designed according to client’s stipulations.
