HSE
All Norwegian businesses have a statutory obligation to comply with the terms of the Internal Control Regulations. The regulations require every business to set targets for its HSE activities. Moreover, each business must create action plans, allocate responsibilities, tasks and authority, as well as establish a system for the prevention and follow-up of any unplanned incidents relating to health, safety and the working environment.

Statkraft’s long-term goal is that there should be no lost-time injuries resulting from our business activities. Our suppliers must ensure that their workplaces are safe and secure, with a good working environment. We demand compliance with the Internal Control Regulations. 

The environment
Statkraft’s vision is to be a European leader in environment-friendly energy. With regard to procurement, this means that our suppliers must be able to document that they are working actively to reduce the negative impact of their business activities on the environment.  

Quality
Statkraft seeks to maintain high quality in all of its production activities. The company therefore prefers to do business with suppliers that have established quality control systems (ISO 9000 and 14000 series, or equivalent). Suppliers must, moreover, be able to document that defined quality standards are included as an integrated part of their business activities. 

Other requirements
The demands made of suppliers will vary according to the nature of the specific purchase. To ensure that our suppliers are capable of delivering the goods or services in question at the agreed terms and conditions (time, quality and price), Statkraft prequalifies its suppliers according to a set of objective criteria (further details are available in the section on qualifying as a supplier).
