Energy operator

Statkraft is actively involved in training energy operators. The power industry itself identified the need for such skilled workers for power plant operations and maintenance. The trade has a strong focus on understanding systems, and is a supplement to the more traditional trades such as energy technician and industrial mechanic.

Statkraft has established a fruitful cooperation with Troms Fagprøvesenter (Troms County Vocational Examination Centre) and Sogndal Vidaregåande skule (Sogndal Upper Secondary School) regarding training in the energy operator trade. Available are a one-year course for skilled workers who already have a craft certificate in an electricity-related trade and a two-year course for workers who have another type of craft certificate (for example, in a construction or mechanical trade) or who are unskilled.
