Statkraft and Agder Energi join forces on wind power

Statkraft and Agder Energi signed an agreement today that forms the company Statkraft Agder Energi Vind DA. The new company will handle all new projects concerning development, construction, operation and maintenance of wind farms in Norway. The company, which will have its head office in Kristiansand, will become the leading market player in the onshore wind power industry, aiming for a minimum capacity of 1,500 MW by 2015.

Statkraft – Q2 2008 - Strong growth and efficient operations

Statkraft’s profit after tax for H1 was NOK 3,218 million (NOK 3,056 million) , while the underlying profit after tax for the same period  was NOK 4,513 million (NOK 3,310 million). The result for the second quarter was impacted by unrealised changes in value. However, despite returning a post-tax loss for the period of NOK 585 million (profit of NOK 450 million), the company posted a strong underlying profit after tax of NOK 1,570 million (NOK 726 million). These results are impacted by higher prices and production compared with the corresponding prior-year period.

Statkraft and E.ON have signed € 4.5 billion swap agreement

Statkraft AS and E.ON AG have signed a final agreement that will position Statkraft as a European leader in renewable energy. Statkraft acquires renewable and flexible power generation assets and shares in E.ON AG, in exchange for shares in E.ON Sverige AB. The total value of the asset swap is € 4.5 billion.

Statkraft and GreenPower awarded consent to build wind farm in Scotland

Statkraft and GreenPower have been awarded consent to construct and operate Carraig Gheal Wind Farm on the west coast of Scotland. The wind farm will comprise 20 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 60 MW. The yearly generation of clean, renewable energy will be equivalent to the demand of 32,000 homes.

Statkraft buys into Swedish wind power company

Statkraft is strengthening its position in wind power in Sweden through its investment in Arise Windpower. Statkraft acquires an ownership interest of 11.8 per cent and gets a seat on the board – which is headed by Pehr G Gyllenhammar.  

Natural science collaboration receives support from the Statkraft Fund

(Trondheim/Uppsala, 9 May 2008) The Statkraft Fund is allocating NOK 1.5 million to both Vitensenteret i Trondheim (the Trondheim Knowledge Centre) and Technichus i Härnösand (the Technology Centre in Härnösand, Sweden) to inspire children and young people to take an interest in energy and natural sciences. The two knowledge institutions are to work together on a teaching programme that combines theory and practical exercises in a new, fascinating manner. 

Statkraft – Q1 2008 - Increased production and higher prices boost profits

Results for the first quarter of 2008 were boosted by higher prices and levels of production than in the corresponding period last year, with Statkraft posting a profit of NOK 3,803 million after tax (NOK 2,605 million)1. Adjusted for unrealised changes in value and material non-recurring items, the Group's profit totalled NOK 2,943 million after tax (NOK 2,584 million).

Statkraft and Catamount announce construction of Blaengwen Wind Farm

Today Statkraft and Catamount Energy Corporation announced that Siemens Wind Power has been selected to provide turbines for the Blaengwen Wind Farm in Wales. The project is a partnership of a Catamount affiliate and Statkraft and will be the first of the partners’ four wind power projects in the UK to be completed.

Statkraft chooses NorWind for concept study of offshore wind power

(Oslo, 7 March 2008) Statkraft has selected NorWind to conduct a concept study for a large, fixed-base wind power facility far offshore. The study aims to narrow the gap between today’s wind-power technology for shallow waters and the deepwater technology of the future.

The Republic of Srpska and Statkraft to cooperate on hydropower development

(Banja Luka/Oslo, 30 January 2008) The Government of the Republic of Srpska, BiH and Statkraft have yesterday signed an agreement for an extensive collaboration within the energy sector. The first joint project is specified as the development and construction of four hydropower plants in lower Vrbas River, expected to have an annual generation of 450 GWh.
