Small power plants
Statkraft has experienced that many are considering or in the process of starting small-scale hydropower production, also known as small power plants. These are power plants with an installed power capacity in the range of 1–10 MW.
A green certificate market that includes hydropower production may be introduced in Norway. If so, this will increase the value of the projects substantially. Statkraft can also help hedge these future values for small-scale power producers.
- If you choose to develop a project yourself, Statkraft can help you to hedge the financial side of your investment. In addition, you can insure yourself against the uncertainty of inflow and the associated production capacity.
Typical contracts include:
– Fixed payment every month over 10 years regardless of production
– Fixed price per kWh for 10 years regardless of production
