Work environment

The Statkraft Group wishes to have business culture in which employees have the opportunity to utilize and develop their talents, and we work systematically to this end.

In a March 2008 survey, Statkraft was voted Norway’s third most attractive place to work among companies with more than 250 employees. The survey was carried out by Great Place to Work Institute Norge and is based on questionnaires among employees.

Sickness absence is an indicator of the physical, psychological and social working environment. Statkraft’s target for sickness absence is below 4 per cent.

Measures for a good work environment include:

  1. Inclusive working life scheme: Statkraft joined this nationwide scheme in 2003. The objective of the scheme is to combat the steady rise in sickness absence and the number of people claiming incapacity benefits.
  2. Company health service: The company health service is staffed by safety and health professionals, and is an important contributor to the company’s efforts in the area of HSE. The service provides advice and support for the creation of safe and healthy workplaces, and focuses on preventive health and environmental activities.
  3. Performance and development reviews for all co-workers.
  4. Annual organisation and leadership surveys among all co-workers covering areas like strategy, targets, competence, organizational issues and work environment.
  5. AKAN: This organisation works to combat substance and alcohol abuse in the workplace, both through preventive measures and by helping employees with substance abuse problems to seek treatment.
  6. Statkraft’s company sports organization offers a wide range of activities, including cultural.
  7. Ergonomically adjusted office equipment.
