With our position in Norway and the Nordic region as a strong basis,  Statkraft  has ambitious plans to grow our business in Europe. This is expressed in our vision – a European leader in environment-friendly energy. We are currently the second largest generator of renewable energy in Europe. Following the agreement between Statkraft and E.ON to swap Statkraft’s shares in E.ON Sverige AB in exchange for flexible power production assets and shares in E.ON AG, Statkraft will become the largest generator of renewable energy in Europe. Sustainability is of key importance in Statkraft’s business strategy and environmental and societal considerations are an integral part of the Group’s management systems.

Statkraft is a pioneer trader in ‘green energy’ products such as Guarantees of Origin, Renewable Energy Certicifates (RECS) and CO2 quotas. With more than 15 years of experience from liberalised power markets, we know how markets can provide efficiency, security of supply and optimal investments for society. Statkraft believes that a future sustainable energy market should be liberalised, technology neutral and transnational.
