Wind power

Wind power is one of the most environmentally friendly sources of energy for large-scale electricity production. Statkraft operates wind farms at Smøla,Hitra and Kjøllefjord in Norway. There is considerable potential for the construction of wind power facilities in Europe, particularly in coastal areas and offshore. The best available wind resources are found in Norway and the UK. In a 10–15 year perspective, wind power generation in Norway could be expanded to an estimated 10–15 TWh.
