Skallhalsen Wind Farm

Licence granted for 40-65 MW. The decision by the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) to grant a licence for this project has been appealed. The appeal is currently being considered by the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy.

Statkraft’s licence application for Skallhalsen Wind Farm in Vadsø:

Statkraft has applied for a licence to build and operate a wind farm at Skallhalsen, north of Ekkerøy in Vadsø, with a total installed capacity of 40-65 MW. In addition, there will be a short power cable linking the scheme to the existing power grid, which passes through the proposed wind farm site. The cable will have a voltage of 66 kV or 132 kV.

The wind farm will be located on a range of hills at Skallhalsen, at a height of 120-135 m above sea level. According to the proposed scheme, the turbines will be located in a slightly curved line from the southeast to the northwest, with the distance from first to last turbine varying from 2.3-4 km. The length of the line of turbines will depend on the total installed capacity and the size of the turbines selected.
