International trainee programme

As a trainee you will learn about our organisation, different business areas and our strategy - to be part of the climate solution by providing pure energy. Trainees are an important part of our company`s people strategy and we see this program as both, an opportunity to provide exciting and relevant careers to young people and challenge our own ways of thinking by hearing new ideas and ways of tackling the climate`s biggest issues. 

Our trainee positions include the following: 

• 16 months programme during incl. three rotations
• One of three rotation placements will be in another Statkraft location

What can you expect from us?

Our trainee program is designed to offer you a fast track into the renewable energy industry. This programme is 16 months in total covering three job rotations with at least one of which usually being overseas and provides tailored learning opportunities both, on and off the job. 

Rotation placements can be either pre-determined based on a specific trainee role or be more flexible and be decided as you progress within your program. Information regarding possible rotations will be covered during the recruitment process however most of our trainees spend time in at least two countries and different business units.

Either way by choosing to be a trainee at Statkraft, you will gain valuable insights across different business areas, build strong networks with other trainees and work alongside some of the most competent experts in the energy sector! 

Who are you?

We are looking for recent graduates who are motivated to be part of the green energy transition and welcome individuals from different educational and ethical backgrounds. Here are a couple of things we think would be good to have when applying for the trainee programme:

• Strong interest in renewable energy and a desire to solve some of the toughest challenges our planet is facing
• Hold a master’s degree
• Not more than one year of experience post-graduation
• Know how to communicate
• Enjoy work, like working with others and motivated to help move Statkraft forward
• Curious and open minded towards different tasks and work environments
• Open to relocate during your trainee program for a period of 6 months
