São João SHP
São João hydropower plant is located on the Castelo River, a tributary of the Itapemirim river, in the southern region of the State of Espírito Santo in Brazil.
Ownership: 100 % owned by Statkraft Energias Renováveis, which is 81.3 % owned by Statkraft.
Production: 113.4 GWh
Power: 25 MW
The power plant has an installed capacity of 25 MW and utilises a total head of approximately 263.5 metres.
The powerhouse has two Francis turbines which receive water by a 6,200 metres long tunnel with 4 metres in base and 4 in arch, and a 686 metres long conduct with 3 metres in diameter.
The dam is a 18.6 metre high, gravity type dam and holds a reservoir of 21 hectares.
