São João hydropower plant is located on the Castelo River, a tributary of the Itapemirim river, in the southern region of the State of Espírito Santo in Brazil.
Ownership: 100 % owned by Statkraft Energias Renováveis, which is 81.3 % owned by Statkraft.

Power: 4.5 MW
The power plant has an installed capacity of 4.5 MW and utilises a total head of approximately 63 metres.
The powerhouse has two Francis turbines which receive water by a 860 metres penstock, 1.9 metres in diameter.
The dam is a 8.2 metre high, gravity type and holds a reservoir of 2 hectares.
