Power: 9.6 MW

The power plant was commissioned in 1912 and gets its operating water from Lake Vanebuvannet.

Hogstad power plant has two generating units with an installed capacity of 9.6 MW. A "mini power plant" with a capacity of 0.6 MW was added to the original generating unit of 9.0 MW and produces power from the required minimum amount of water flowing past Hogstad power plant.

Both units are equipped with Francis turbines. The height of fall is 136 metres.

After production in Hogstad power plant, the water heads towards the centre of the town of Siljan and on to Sagfossen power plant downstream in the Siljan watercourse.

Through its majority ownership in Skagerak Energi AS, Statkraft is co-owner of this power plant. Skagerak Kraft AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Skagerak Energi, is responsible for daily operations, and manages the licences and obligations in terms of river management and regulating of the watercourse.
