Lake Langvatnet is the reservoir for the power plant. The reservoir is regulated between 41 and 43.7 metres above sea level. The gross height of fall is 43.7 metres. The plant is equipped with two vertical Francis turbines having a total capacity of 90 MW.
Ranaelva was the first river in the Statkraft system to be covered by minimum rate of water flow regulations. Water is periodically transferred to Lake Langvatn by damming the river at Reinforsen. Reinforsen power plant was built in 1925 and also uses Lake Langvatnet as a reservoir.
