Statkraft and Nordic Paper enters into long-term power agreement

(Oslo, 3. May 2011) – Statkraft has entered into a new long-term power agreement with paper producer Nordic Paper.
The agreement comprises a total volume of 230 GWh, and secures the power supply for Nordic Paper's paper mill in Greåker in the southeast of Norway. The power agreement runs from 01.06.2011 to 31.12.2018.
Nordic Paper is an energy-intensive company which makes it strategically important to secure the power supply on a long-term basis.
Statkraft is a main energy supplier to the industry, and delivers a volume of more than 20 TWh annually to the Norwegian and Nordic power-intensive industry. These deliveries currently comprise about one third of the Statkraft Group's total energy generation.
Statkraft is Europe's leader in renewable energy. The Group develops and produces hydropower, wind power, gas power and district heating, and is a major player on the European energy exchanges. Statkraft has 3,300 staff in more than 20 countries.
