Statkraft and Wacker Chemie Norway AS enter into long-term power agreement

(Oslo, 25 May 2011) – Statkraft has entered into a new long-term power agreement with silicon metal producer Wacker Chemie Norway.
Today Statkraft signed a new long-term power agreement with silicon metal producer Wacker Chemie Norway in Holla near Trondheim, Norway. The agreement comprises a total volume of 3.7 TWh until the end of 2020.
Statkraft is a main energy supplier to the industry, and delivers a volume of more than 20 TWh annually to the Norwegian and Nordic power-intensive industry. These deliveries currently comprise about one third of the Statkraft Group’s total energy generation.
Statkraft is Europe's leader in renewable energy. The Group develops and produces hydropower, wind power, gas power and district heating, and is a major player on the European energy exchanges. Statkraft has 3,300 employees in more than 20 countries.
