Change at the top of eeMobility

12 Jan, 2021

eeMobility, the market specialist for high-quality, customer-friendly charging solutions for electric vehicle fleets, is preparing to scale up the current business model. After growing a start-up into a leading provider in the field of B2B charging solutions, the two founders of eeMobility GmbH, Robin Geisler and Klaus Huber will step down from the management board.

The next scaling phase will be solely managed by Günter Fuhrmann, who has been COO of eeMobility since the end of 2019. In this capacity, he has been significantly involved in the preparations for the handover. Robin Geisler and Klaus Huber will continue to be available to the company in an advisory capacity.

As part of the upscaling strategy, Statkraft, largest producer of renewable energy in Europe, acquired the remaining shares from Klaus Huber and Robin Geisler. At the end of 2018 the Norwegian power company acquired the majority to accelerate internationalization and scaling. The investment is part of Statkraft's strategy to grow a European charging unit to serve customers in the business and consumer segment.

"Robin and Klaus were pioneers in implementing an integrated business model that guarantees renewable energy delivery to employee car fleets and a bundled offering for charging at home, the office or on the-go. We would like to thank Robin and Klaus for their great commitment and wish them all the best for their further entrepreneurial steps," says Bjørn Holsen, SVP New Business, Statkraft.

"eeMobility is well positioned in the exponentially growing market for charging solutions, and together with our wider charging portfolio, the company is able to provide a great range of charging services to customers," he added.

"After 6 years establishing leading innovative solutions for electric fleets the market is ready for the next boost of scaling, and I wish Günter and the team all the best for the European developments," said Robin Geisler.

"We are proud of our team and their great achievements. Our vision has become very tangible and our services create significant impact on mobility behaviour," said Klaus Huber.

eeMobility GmbH is a leading provider of charging solutions for electrified company cars and provides fleet customers with the complete charging infrastructure for operating electric and hybrid vehicles. Services include planning, hardware, installation and operation of the charging stations, which supply TÜV Süd-certified electricity from 100 per cent renewable energy sources.

The service, which is specifically geared to the needs of fleet customers, and a charging card for public charging stations throughout Europe round off the offer. Since December 2018, the Norwegian energy group Statkraft, Europe's largest producer of renewable energy, has been an investor in eeMobility GmbH.
