Drehid wind farm

Ireland / Wind power / Project

The Drehid proposal is for a 12-turbine wind farm which would provide green energy to over 35,000 Irish homes.

The area under consideration for the Drehid wind farm is based around the townland of Drehid in County Kildare, in Ireland’s Mid-East Region. It has been identified as suitable and appropriate for wind farm development.

All cables will be laid underground. There will be an onsite substation. Associated works will include access tracks, turbine foundations and hardstanding areas, drainage works, temporary site compound, underground electrical and communications cables between turbines, as well as an underground cable to connect the proposed project to the local Dunfirth substation.
