Rucatayo is run-of-river power plant, located on the Pilmaiquén River, about 36 kilometres east of the city of Osorno, which is about 900 kilometres south of the country's capital.
It has been in operation since 2012 and was acquired by Statkraft in 2015 as part of the company’s purchase of the majority shareholding in the Chilean power company Pilmaiquen Electric Company.
