Langwedel hydropower plant

The Langwedel hydropower plant is located along the Weser River in the district of Verden in Lower Saxony, Germany.

Statkraft took over the run-of-river hydropower plant from E.ON at the beginning of 2009. The plant was commissioned in 1958 and has a generating capacity of 7.2 MW.

The Langwedel plant works with four Kaplan turbines.

Statkraft protects biodiversity and has established fish-friendly operations. We monitor eel migration with special devices (migromates) and switch to fish-friendly operation mode as soon as eels start to migrate towards the sea.
