Statkraft at ONS
Statkraft was represented with a stand and several activities at ONS in Stavanger 28 -31 August. Europe's largest company within renewable energy was of course also part of the Renewable Energy Park, and will cohost the seminar Inside the energy revolution.
For almost 40 years Offshore Northern Seas (ONS) has been a broad-based international energy event, and one of the most important meeting places for everyone involved in the entire energy sector. Since its launch, the biennial event has been staged in Stavanger, Norway. In 2010 more than 50 000 guest from 91 countries visited the exhibition with more than 1350 exhibitors from 32 countries.
Statkraft has been present at ONS since 2001. This year, EVP Hilde Bakken was a member of the ONS Conference Committee and Statkraft was a founding father for Renewable Energy Park, a special area for the renewable energy industry. Regional director Jan Alne is a member of the Renewable Energy Park Committee.
Statkrafts activities during the event included contributions from Christian Rynning-Tønnesen and Steinar Bysveen in the seminar programme in Center Court, Renewable Energy Park, a 70 m2 stand, and a reception for 200 renewable friends in cooperation with Lyse and Statnett. A trip to Ulla-Førre was also arranged.
Energy seminar
On Wednesday 29 August Statkraft hosted together with Lyse and Statnett the seminar Inside the energy revolution. Here Maria van der Hoeven from IEA presented Energy Technology Perspectives 2012 – Scenarios and Strategies to 2050, and Ola Borten Moe, Norwegian Minister of Petroleum and Energy commented on the report. There was also a panel discussion.
The second part of the seminar adressed energy paradoxes. CEOs Christian Rynning-Tønnesen from Statkraft, Auke Lont from Statnett and Eimund Nygaard from Lyse and Jørgen Kildahl from E.ON had presentations, and we opened up for discussion and questions from the audience.
An important meeting place
ONS is an important meeting place for Statkraft where important stakeholders can be met through seminars, receptions and one to one meetings. The Statkraft stand was manned by representatives from various business areas at all times.
