The digital future of energy
Top executives from energy and IT companies met future-oriented entrepreneurs and innovators to explore the impact of digital technology on the energy space.
A roundtable hosted by Statkraft CEO Christian Rynning-Tønnesen gathered many of Europe's most innovative start-ups and established companies. The topic of the day was digital business models and new opportunity areas in energy.
The 22 participants had lively discussions and many had visions of the digital future and the expanding service ecosystem in energy.
"The energy industry sees a rapid development away from fossil fuels and a move from centralized to distributed energy production. Consumers are empowered and become prosumers. In Statkraft, we are actively seeking new possibilities. We need to test more business models on small scale, on a faster pace than today, and we need to be able to close down models that we see are not working," said Rynning-Tønnesen on the event.
The event was organized by Xyntéo with partners Statkraft, EDP and ČEZ.
