Smøla wind farm

Smøla wind farm is located in Smøla municipality, in Møre og Romsdal county in Western Norway.

The wind farm has a total of 68 wind turbines and provides an annual production of 356 GWh, enough to supply 17,800 Norwegian households. It is situated in flat and open terrain 10 - 40m above sea level.

The wind farm was constructed in two phases. The first construction phase with 20 wind turbines became operational in September 2002, while the second phase with 48 wind turbines was commissioned in September 2005.

The rotors have a diameter of 76 to 82.4m, and the towers are 70m high.

Smøla was Europe's largest onshore wind farm when it was commissioned, and the largest in Norway until 2017.
