Namsos district heating

Statkraft Varme has a licence to supply district heating in Namsos Municipality.

The facility consists of a heating plant that burns wood chips as base load. It also acquires bio-heat from Moelven. The plant has gas and oil boilers that serve as reserve capacity.

The district heating network through Namsos town centre runs for 9.1 kilometres. Larger customers include the hospital, municipality and county.
